Hello, I’m Mayor Bonita Davis. The Council, Residents and I would like to welcome you to take a stroll down our historic main street to enjoy our shopping and restaurants. Come explore our community with quaint character and interesting architecture.
Independence is a service oriented city rich in tradition and devoted to growth through commitment to overall fiscal well-being and long term sustainability; we’re a city on the move!
A great school system, bike trails, Wapsipinicon River frontage, a farmer’s market featuring local vendors, safe neighborhoods and caring people are just a few reasons why I love being a part of the Independence community.
At City Hall we make it our position to help make you successful in our city, please contact us if we can be of service. Whether you’re looking for a place to visit, live or build a business, know that you are welcome in Independence.
