ACCEPT AND APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA THAT APPROVES THE FOLLOWING:
1. The minutes of the August 9, 2010 Regular Meeting.
2. Pancho’s Mexican American Food new Special Class C Liquor License including Sunday Sales; August 23, 2010 –August 22, 2011.
3. Casey’s General Store #83 renewal Class C Beer Permit including Sunday Sales; October 12, 2010-October 11, 2011.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

HEARINGS
2. Adopt a Resolution Approving the Hazard Mitigation Plan Update for the City of Independence, Iowa.
Motion-to receive and file proof of publication of notice of public hearing.
HOLD HEARING-No objections on file.
Motion-to close the hearing and receive and file oral and written comments.
Resolution-approving the Hazard Mitigation Plan Update for the City of Independence, Iowa.

RESOLUTIONS
3. Motion-to adopt a Resolution appointing an individual as a director to the Independence Public Library board for a term of four years.
4. Motion-to adopt a Resolution appointing an individual to the Parks and Recreation advisory committee.
5. Motion-to adopt a Resolution appointing an individual to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
6. Motion-to adopt a Resolution in support of increased freight rail capacity and in support of preserving balanced regulation.
7. Motion-to adopt a Resolution approving a contract between Municipal Pipe Tool Co., Inc. and the City of Independence to provide a five-year sewer maintenance contract.

OLD BUSINESS
8. Motion-to approve the Ordinance Committee’s recommendations for revisions to the City Code and authorizing the City Clerk to forward to Iowa Codification Inc. in preparation of recodification.
9. Discussion on renting the remainder of the annex building located at 210 5th Avenue NE for the police department’s utilization.
